Design Philosophy
The Church in America stands at a cultural crossroads.
The pressure to embrace the norms of an increasingly secular culture weighs heavily on Christians. This tension reveals itself in many surprising places, including in the graphic design of the Church!
Christian ministries can often find themselves either focused so much on doctrinal content that they are not worried about design or consumed with a desire for relevance such that they market and produce themselves in ways that aren't distinctively Christian.
A way forward
My mission (both as a student of theology and a designer) is to help Christians in different areas embrace a design language that is both relevant and rooted in the aesthetic legacy of Christendom.
