Imparted Music

Wynston reached out some years after I had made the WotR logo in order to commission branding for a music tutoring practice. Wynston’s goal is to foster musical literacy. The goal of this project was to design using a modular scale derived from the intervals of Old 100th. Since the Genevan Psalter is a key inspiration, visual cues were taken from the typography and engraving techniques of the 16th century. The mark is an embellished quill implying the form of a G clef, with the radius of its upper circle set to the major second and the diameter of its lower circle to the perfect fourth of the scale.
